High rigidity and toughness of resin create performance of the product

Passengers hold the Grabrail at getting on and off and the Grabrails are located on the upper parts of inside of vehicle to be grabbed easily. The Grabrail is molded by the Gas-Injection Molding, so it has hollow structure to absorb the shock of passengers’s head at an accident. We design the product to have enough strength not to be splattered when the Side Curtain Airbag is deployed. High Rigidity and toughness of Resin create this perpormance of the product.

Face the quality, looking beyond

We ensure performance of the part by testings with real vehicle body again and again before start of production. We test in very wide temparature ranges of -30 to 80 degree celsius to ensure durability in tropical and cold regions.
We establish Quality Control System before the start of production to take correct countermeasure in the production process because defects trend to be occured at change points in production processes.

What we can do for stable supply

The Grabrail is our main product and we produce 15 millions of the products so that more than 90% of Honda Vehicles use our Grabrail. We centeralize the Grabrail production to our plant in Thailand for productivity increase. We also ship the product to our customer's assembly plants all over the world. Especially, it takes for a month by boat to ship to the North America, therefore we carefully have transportation trials to avoid scrach. We put our efforts to stable supplies as a key supplier who takes a part of customer's supply chain mamagement.

Reliable products to the customers all over the world

The production Control System which does not produce defective parts is Kumi Kasei ’s strength. As for the Grabrails, we did not supply any defective parts. We are proud that it is the result of continous daily improvements for aiming better products from the inception. As we strive for reliable manufacturing which lives up to customer's trust, we propose products which are produced with the Gas Injection Molding Technology which we have developed for many years.
