Piano black
More grossy than Piano itself
｢The Piano Black｣ is a word which means fine texture with high gloss. Feature of our Piano Black Series is no need to be painted because transparent PMMA material is pre-colored before molding process. Our Piano Black product obtains fine, glossy texture with transparent PMMA material, that is not obtained by conventional painted piano black product because it reflects all light. This Piano Black Technology is applied to exterior parts such as the Sash Garnish.
High grossy and less sink marks, our original molding technology supporting Piano Black
It has been a long term challenge to eliminate [sink marks] on surface which are occurred by material shrinkage during cooling process in thick geometry such as reinforcing ribs on back side. ｢KISS Molding｣, our unique and patented process is able to keep placing material onto the mold texture even in the cooling process, so it avoids the sink marks. (Sink marks are occurred on back side, it is opposite side to conventional injection molding) . It is the optimal molding technology to obtain Piano Black appearance because it also has very high replication of the mold texture at the same time.
Uncompromising performance with striving for high quality
As high gloss texture in appearance is the feature of the Piano Black Product, we do not ship the products even if there is only few and minor defects on face side. We inspect quality at the plant which produces the Sash Garnish, approximately 40 points are inspected by vision camera system which is installed on the arm of robot.
After the inspection, the product is cover by protection film to avoid scrach. We utilize the Vision Camera System for Quality Control.

Recently, we have expanded Piano Black Series to interior parts as well as exterior parts because of high decorativity. As recent market trend has changed, vehicle is required to be homey like a living room. We consider to go extend across Automotive Industry frame, and divert our KISS technology to Home Appliances and Housing Equipments Market. We will take advantage of ｢Excellent decorativity｣ and acceralate new product proposals which is able to be done by only Kumi Kasei.
